Educational Objectives

The Twenty-Second Annual CME Spring Fling is planned for physicians with emphasis on meeting the needs encountered by the primary care practitioner.  Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Improve the in-clinic diagnostic abilities with understanding of cervical problems for primary care and specialist.
  2. Foster a closer working relationship between the general practice office and the specialist on the issues of diagnostic testing as it applies to the cervical spine for their patients.
  3. Managing and maintaining medical records and financial documentation.
  4. Demonstrate and provide accurate coding and billing to insurance companies and Medicare for services rendered in the primary care office.
  5. Develop a clear clinical understanding of the process of dementia for a more accurate diagnosis of this condition.
  6. Improve and implicate the physician’s ability to interact with the terminally ill patients and their families relative to the management and care.
  7. Discuss and describe recognition in diagnosis of osteoporosis.
  8. Provide treatment protocols for the avoidance of osteoporosis and the consequential compression fractures.
  9. Provide current up-to-date medical information relative to hormonal contraception to include medications and side effects.
  10. Develop a medical understanding of autism to include its origin and potential preventative aspects of to understand treatment protocol for adults.
  11. Clarify which tests are most effective in diagnosing common pathology encountered by the primary care physician.
  12. Gain clinical understanding for the difference of diagnoses and treatment of patients who experience vertigo.
  13. Define the requirements and medical necessity as well as providing nutritional recommendations in the post-operative bariatric patient.
  14. Create, identify, and increase an awareness of recommendations for treatment to eliminate and avoid obesity.
  15. Understanding, recognizing and providing appropriate treatment for occupational injuries.
