Application Procedure

Formal application includes:

  1. Appropriate application form:

  2. Application fee ($40.00 domestic, $75.00 international)
  3. Personal Statement consisting of the following:
    • Applicant’s primary motivation for going to graduate school and how that developed
    • Applicant’s long-term goals and how earning a graduate degree in Biomedical Sciences will help to achieve those goals
    • Any research interests in Biomedical Sciences that the applicant may have and if there are any CHS graduate faculty that he/she might want to work with
  4. Official transcript from each college and university attended in the United States
  5. International applicants are required to have all international educational documents (transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas, degree certificates) submitted and evaluated by World Education Service (www.wes.org).  Please select the Course-by-Course evaluation with the ICAP option.
  6. Test scores for the GRE, MCAT (DO/PhD applicants), and TOEFL exams (international applicants)
  7. Three letters of recommendation from persons familiar with the educational background of the applicant (comments should be made regarding the applicant’s research experience and expected motivation and productivity in research)

  9. An AACOMAS application and supplemental application (for DO/PhD applicants only)

GRE: use Institutional Code 6546 for Oklahoma State University and Departmental Code 0612 for Osteopathic, a code unique to the Center for Health Sciences – the only OSU campus with an Osteopathic program.

TOEFL: use Institution code 7702

Application deadlines:

PhD applications - February 15th for admission in the Fall semester

MS applications - Are accepted on a rolling basis:  applicants are encouraged to submit all application materials early but must have a completed application on file no later than four weeks prior to the start of the semester for which they are applying

Please note: a complete application must be on file no later than the specified deadlines
