Dr. Stevens teaches various lectures in the second-year medical school curriculum, including in the Psychiatry course, Health Promotion/Disease Prevention course, and Clinical Skills course. She also teaches in the Advanced Interviewing Skills module of the Primary Care Clerkship and in the Family Medicine Residency Program. Select topics taught include medical interviewing skills, behavior change counseling, anxiety disorders, smoking cessation, treatment adherence, and psychiatric aspects of pain.
Her clinical interests involve primary care psychology services, including behavioral medicine applications in the management of chronic medical conditions, tobacco cessation, and cognitive behavioral intervention for mood, anxiety, and stress-related disorders. Dr. Stevens is also a clinical supervisor in our Behavioral Health Clinic, which serves as a practicum site for psychology doctoral students.
