Core Teaching Hospital Course Description
The student assigned to Core Teaching Hospital will be assigned to the Chair of OSU-COM Departments of Internal Medicine, Surgery and OB/GYN, who will coordinate medical staff supervisors in Core Teaching Hospital rotations.
While on Core Clerkship, students will:
- encounter two months of Internal Medicine training in the hospital setting
- have the opportunity to participate in general Internal Medicine; many students will also have the opportunity for inpatient subspecialty training
- learn the process of inpatient medicine from admission to discharge of the patient
- be expected to learn by participation in clinical rounds as well as didactic presentation, 100% particiaption in all didactic programs is required
Each Core Teaching Hospital assignment is four months in length and is composed of four 1-month rotations.
