Student Evaluations and Grades
Students are responsible for providing all aspects (i.e., form, meeting, follow-up, deadlines) of their evaluations.  This includes site evaluations for every clinical rotation and physician evaluations for the following rotations:
  • Pediatrics
  • Rural Clinic
  • Community Clinic
  • Psychiatry
  • Community Hospital I and II

Students are not responsible for physician evaluations in the following Core rotations:

  • Surgery
  • OB/GYN
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Primary Care Clinic
  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
All evaluations are due within seven days of the completion of each rotation (postmarked by the 5th).
  • Students should schedule a meeting with their supervising physician during the last week, before the end of the rotation, to review their evaluation.
  • Students should obtain a copy for themselves to assure compliance with OSU-COM deadlines.
  • Grades will then be determined following the completion of each rotation through the responsible clinical department.

The composition of grades will be determined by each clinical department and will be outlined in the syllabus composed and provided by each of the clinical departments.

Letter grades will be issued in the Required rotations:
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Rural Clinic
  • Community Clinic
  • Internal Medicine I and II
  • OB/GYN
  • Pediatrics
  • Psychiatry

The following ratings will be issued in Elective rotations.
