Emergency Medicine Residency
Freeman Health System’s Emergency Medicine Residency program is a three year program, following the completion of a linked internship year.
Our program takes place in our Level II Trauma Center and sees over 100,000 visits on an annual basis. With a medical staff of over 350 physicians and a 40 bed ICU unit, Freeman serves as a tertiary referral center for northeastern Oklahoma as well as southeastern Missouri.
The ER residency program has a strong balance of hands-on procedural experience for our residents coupled with an equally strong academic program. Our teaching faculty is comprised of experienced professionals in field of emergency medicine with commitment to teaching developing physicians.

Freeman offers a very competitive salary and benefit program.
- PGY 1: $42,000
- PGY 2: $43,000
- PGY 3: $44,000
- PGY 4: $45,000
Also included are an educational stipend, health and dental benefits and professional fees paid including college memberships, Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons, and training licensure fees.
How to Apply
Freeman Health System’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program accepts applications for our residency via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for the NMS Match. ERAS opens for applications on August 15 every year. Freeman accepts ERAS applications through November 15 every year. The program begins interviewing in October and finishes in the end of December. The match takes place in February.
