About the Hospital
When it opened its doors in 1944, one of the first actions of the founders of OSU Medical Center (then known as Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital), was to seek approval for graduate training programs. Today, OSUMC offers a quality postgraduate program in multiple disciplines.
The medical center has grown to become one of the nation's largest osteopathic health care centers and is significantly involved in clinical training for medical students, nurses, therapists, and technicians from several area schools and colleges. OSUMC is a flagship hospital in eastern Oklahoma with premier emergency and outpatient programs and is poised for great outreach and growth in the 21st century.
OSUMC places a strong emphasis on the importance of proactive postgraduate teaching, and if you should be selected to join the house staff, you will become integrally involved in the teaching and learning process. All applicants must come to Tulsa for an interview and are carefully reviewed in terms of academic qualifications, prior experience, and interest in the profession.
If you choose to join OSUMC, you will have potential contact with over 300 staff physicians, with 90% of our specialists board certified or eligible. The medical center is committed to quality patient care. With a wide variety of high acuity cases, the training program is seen as a critical priority by the medical center and administration.
