Required Clinical Rotations
Emergency Medicine Clerkship
The four-week required clerkship in a hospital Emergency Room setting gives fourth-year medical students direct involvement and experience in emergency medicine.
It is designed to further develop the concepts of diagnosis and management acquired during the OSU-COM pre-clinical course-work and to develop decision-making and cognitive skills related to patient care in an emergency setting.
In addition, this course may include experiences such as:
- Surgical assistance
- Labor and delivery
- Hospital staff and committee meetings
- Community and public health functions
