Dr. Pete's Big Event

The incoming class of students at OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine at OSU-CHS volunteer in the Tulsa community as part of Dr. Pete’s Big Event, an annual community service project for medical students on their first day of school. The event promotes the importance of team work, community involvement and building relationships. Second-year medical students help plan the event and lead the volunteer groups at each of the service sites.

Past volunteer locations have included:

  • Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma
  • Hospitality House of Tulsa
  • Life Senior Service
  • Clarehouse Hospice
  • Eugene Field Elementary School, the university’s partner in education
