guest lecturer on alternative medicine at the spring semester of
the Oklahoma State University Mini-Medical School.

A. Keuchel, D.O., was named Chairman Emeritus of
the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and is the sponsor of the
newly formed Oklahoma Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecology Student
Association.
Warren
E. Finn, Ph.D.,
associate professor of physiology, co-authored the Handbook of Neuroprosthetic
Methods.
Stanley
E. Grogg, D.O., associate professor of pediatrics,
received a Spanish-speaking certificate from an accredited school
in Costa Rica to better communicate with Hispanic patients. Dr.Grogg
also graduated from the Citizens Police Academy in Tulsa.
Brenda
G. Michael-Haggard, development director, was re-elected
treasurer for the Oklahoma eastern chapter of the Association of
Fund Raising Professionals.
Kirby
L. Jarolim, Ph.D.,
chairman and professor of anatomy, had a paper published in Folia
Parasitologica.
Dave
G. Money, M.L.S., assistant librarian for reference
and media, helped coordinate a video on rural medicine for the Network
for Continuing Medical Education.
Pam
K. Norman, M.S., associate coordinator,presented
at the National Peer Helpers Association annual conference on a

Doris
K. Patneau, Ph.D., assistant professor of anatomy
and cell biology, earned a New Scientist Award from the Oklahoma
Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology. Her three-year
project investigates targets for therapeutic intervention for amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis, Huntington’s disease and brain damage after
stroke.
Susan
K. Redwood, Ph.D., chairman and professor of psychiatry
and behavioral sciences, was appointed to represent the College
on the Oklahoma State University Presidential Search Committee.
Marla
M. Schaefer, M.S., communications specialist, received
first place from the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association
for her writing in the winter 2002 OSU Physician magazine and the
alumni newsletter COMmunicator.
James
S. Seebass, D.O., chairman and professor of medicine,
moderated the spring semester of the Oklahoma State University Mini-Medical
School and was honored with the Outstanding Teacher Award by graduating
students.
Kayse
M. Shrum, D.O., assistant professor of pediatrics,
received the “Rookie Physician of the Year” award from
the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association.
Craig
W. Stevens, Ph.D., professor of pharmacology, received
a contract from the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science
and Technology for a two year study entitled “Sequence and
Pharmacology of Novel Opioid Receptors.”
Ellen
L. Stockton, director of graphic arts and photography,
received first place from the Oklahoma College Public Relations
Association for her design in the winter 2002 OSU Physician magazine
and the alumni newsletter COMmunicator.
Ray
E. Stowers, D.O.,
director of the Oklahoma Rural Health Policy and Research Center
and assistant professor of family medicine, served as the lead presenter
for a national telecourse on telemedicine produced by the Network
for Continuing Medical Education.
Nancy
S. Van Winkle, Ph.D., associate professor of psychiatry
and behavioral sciences, presented on end of-life decisions and
American Indian cultures at the University of New Mexico School
of Medicine. Dr. Van Winkle was a guest lecturer on end-of-life
issues for the spring semester of the Oklahoma State University
Mini-Medical School.
Karen
K. Wicker, M.H.R., received top honors for her work
as editor of the OSU Physician magazine from the Oklahoma College
