TULSA, Okla. -- Nathan Hale High School’s magnet program in health management honored Jenny Alexopulos, D.O., and OSU-CHS at “Dr. Alex Day” Oct. 9. The special day was to recognize the efforts of Dr. Alex and OSU-CHS in assisting the school’s health management program. It offers mentoring, guest instructors and lab experiences, shadowing opportunities, and access to technology for students interested in health management. OSU-CHS assists with securing resources for the program. Dana Livingston, director of student affairs, works with the students, who came to campus last year for a mini-med school with CHS students and faculty.
“This year we will offer shadowing at the OSU Medical Center, and students also can explore different medical specialties, conduct college planning and learn about professionalism,” Livingston said. She added that “Dr. Alex Day” is a thank-you to OSU-CHS for its contribution to the health program. Administrators from Tulsa Public schools, the high school and career tech also attend to extend their thanks, she said. Alexopulos was presented with a scrapbook to thank her for her assistance.
