OSU Telemedicine Plans Third Mobile Clinic
A funding bill that has passed the House and the Senate and awaits signature by the President includes $300,000 for a third mobile clinic for OSU Center for Health Sciences’ mobile telemedicine fleet.
OSU’s first mobile clinic serves eastern Oklahoma. A second telemedicine bus is on order and will serve the western part of the state. Jason Bray, Chief of Medical Informatics and Director of Telemedicine, said the third bus will augment current telemedicine efforts. The goal is to eventually have one bus for each quadrant of state of Oklahoma, and also to add a mammography bus for entire state.
OSU’s new funding is part of a total of $3.3 million federal dollars for various local projects such as new buses for Tulsa, funds for the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation, Tulsa Public Schools needs, and funding for OU’s North Tulsa Specialty Clinic.
