|OSU takes Bedlam Canned Food Drive title
TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and Oklahoma State University-Tulsa and have won the fifth annual Bedlam Canned Food Drive competition. The effort benefits the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
This is the fourth win for OSU in the five years it has held a friendly bedlam competition with the University of Oklahoma.
Ryan Miller, alumni director for OSU-CHS College of Osteopathic Medicine, coordinated the campus drive. “Our medical students held their annual Cananza Bonanza, gathering and donating canned goods for the food drive,” he said. “Their efforts make a tremendous contribution to our results.”
Carol Foley, deputy director of resource development for the food bank, reported total pounds of food donated is 7206, and total on-line dollars is $1.942. A $1 donation equals two pounds of food.
The competition is sponsored by the Tulsa Chapter of the OSU Alumni Association, and the OU Club of Tulsa.
Oklahoma State University donated 6,082 pounds and the University of Oklahoma donations totaled 3,581 pounds. This includes dollars translated into pounds.
