Individuals outside the program may submit the Application for Special Graduate Admission to enroll as “special” students in courses not filled by M.S.F.S. students. Course openings are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date the special graduate application is received. Applicants must provide a transcript showing an undergraduate degree conferred.

The application, application fee, and required official transcripts (sent directly from the college/university to OSU-CHS) must be postmarked or received in the Graduate Office at OSU-CHS by August 1 for fall enrollment or by December 10 for spring enrollment.
The Application for Special Graduate Admission permits enrollment for any

  • Individual with a college degree who wants to take a specific course
  • Qualified applicant who did not receive an offer because of limited space in the MS graduate program
  • Potential applicant who wants to take a trial course before applying
  • Graduate student from another university or OSU campus who wants to take a specific course (special application required for OSU students, but no fee)

To apply:

  • Submit the Application for Special Graduate Admission postmarked by due dates listed above.
  • Pay the $40 application fee ($75 USD for International applicants) unless the fee was sent with the regular graduate application
  • Arrange for all official college/university transcripts to be mailed directly from the institution(s) to:

OSU-CHS Student Affairs
Graduate Coordinator
1111 W. 17th St.
Tulsa, OK 74107-1898

To enroll:

  • After the special application is approved, you will receive e-mail instructions, an enrollment form, and a list of course offerings for the upcoming semester.
  • Follow directions on the enrollment form and course list to enroll.  Ask the department office for the campus-wide ID or CWID number, which you may enter on the form.  Do not use your Social Security number.
  • You will receive e-mail verification of enrollment.  For registration in classes that might fill with program students, you will be placed on a waiting list and the confirmation will be held until the enrollment deadline.
