On February 26, 1978, we all lost a true freind, Orie Wright, who had been at
OCOMS less than a year.
that short time, however, Mr. Wright brought an
essential element to the college that many institutions of much greater age never
realize. That elusive element was financial stability. Mr. Wright's death caused
only a temporary interruption in the implementation of the accounting system in
use today. The system which he designed and began installation of.
Perhaps it was the good natured manner in which he approached life. Maybe it was
the sincerity with which he expressed his concern for people. Whatever it was, his
gregarious manner was not restricted to OCOMS. Active as a civic leader, Mr.
Wright was an outstanding example to the community of what we hope to stand for
- high standards of excellence.
