It
is one of Nature 's greater blessings that we humans have a poor memory for pain. You might call it
Amnestic Analgesia. Fortunately, we do tend to remember the pleasant moments, those fleeting rushes of
exhilaration at our accomplishments, a shared joke, a spontaneous outburst of pent up nervousness that
emerges as 3-D hilarity. We may have to take the bitter with the better, but thank the Lord for selective memory.
By the way, is that a putamen in your pocket or are you happy to see me?
