OSU-COM Osteopathic Scrub Run to raise money for local nonprofits
The Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine will host the annual Osteopathic Scrub Run on Saturday, March 2 at the OSU Center for Health Sciences. Proceeds from the run will go to support Lifeshare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma and the Sooner Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
"We are excited to continue this tradition at OSU Center for Health Sciences," said James Hensel, Scrub Run chair for the Student Osteopathic Medical Association. "The Scrub Run enables us to get involved in the Tulsa community and support two great local organizations."
The event features a 5K and one-mile fun run, both ChampionChip timed. Racers, casual runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate. The course starts and finishes at the OSU Center for Health Sciences, located at the corner of West 17th Street and Southwest Boulevard. Registration begins at 7 a.m., with the 5K starting at 9 a.m. and the fun run starting at 9:05 a.m.
Early registration for the Osteopathic Scrub Run, available until Feb. 11, is $10 for the fun run and $20 for the 5K. Regular registration, Feb. 12-March 2, is $15 for the fun run and $25 for the 5K. Packet pick-up and onsite registration will be available at Tulsa Runner, 97808 Riverside Parkway, from Feb. 25-March 1 during business hours.
All registrants will receive an OSU-COM Osteopathic Scrub Run T-shirt while supplies last. Professional timing services will be provided by Timeline Results. Prizes will be awarded to race category winners.\ At 11 a.m., following the awards ceremony, participants are encouraged to take advantage of a free health fair hosted by OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy.
