Native Explorers summer program accepting applications
The Native Explorers program is accepting applications for the summer 2013 program at OSU Center for Health Sciences. Native Explorers is a program designed to recruit, train and educate American Indian college students in anatomy, vertebrate paleontology and osteopathic medicine.
The program, a partnership between OSU-CHS, Chickasaw Nation and Whitten-Burrage law firm, runs May 13-24. Participants will gain hands on experience during a scientific expedition to OSU-CHS in Tulsa, southwestern Oklahoma, southwestern New Mexico and southeastern Arizona. Students will visit museums and archeological sites, and learn about anatomy and American Indian history and culture.
Native Explorers is open at American Indian college students age 18 and older. Students may be eligible to earn three hours of college credit. The deadline to apply is March 1. Students must complete an application and submit a letter of reference from an instructor. To apply or for more infomation, visit the Native Explorers website.
