OOA recognizes OSU-CHS faculty, alumni
The Oklahoma Osteopathic Association honored OSU Center for Health Sciences faculty and alumni during the organization's annual awards banquet at the 113th Annual Convention on April 20 in Norman.
William J. Pettit, D.O., interim senior associate dean of academic affairs and associate dean of rural health at OSU-CHS, was honored with the Outstanding and Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding leadership and guidance within the profession and for his dedication to promoting osteopathic medicine education.
Robin R. Dyer, D.O., was awarded the A.T. Still Award of Excellence for her continued dedication to the osteopathic profession by preserving the teachings and philosophy of osteopathic medicine. Dyer heads the department of osteopathic manipulative medicine at OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Rookie Physician of the Year Awards were presented to OSU-COM alumni Nicole M. Willis, D.O., Zachary A. Fowler, D.O., and Scott Shepherd, D.O. Willis, who graduated from OSU-COM in '09, is certified in pediatrics and practices at the Little Axe Health Center in Shawnee. Fowler, also an '09 alumnus, is a family practice physician in Tulsa. Shepherd, an '08 OSU-COM graduate, currently works for St. John Medical Center in internal medicine and pediatrics.
