CHS to honor Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma for TeleHealth grant
OSU Center for Health Sciences and the OSU Foundation will honor Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma for providing a grant to expand the OSU TeleHealth network with a special reception on Monday, Sept. 16 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Fourth Floor Board Room in the Barson Building.
Blue Cross Blue Shield recently awarded OSU-CHS with a $250,000 grant to expand the OSU Center for Rural Health's TeleHealth network. The grant will expand the network, already the largest in the state, and establish new distance-learning sites at rural hospitals in Altus, Ardmore, McAlester and Stillwater. Additional sites are also being planned as part of the grant. Funding from the grant will also establish a fixed telemedicine site for medical consultations at Arkansas Verdigris Valley Health Centers in Porter.
During the reception, OSU physicians will demonstrate how the TeleHealth network connects patients in rural Oklahoma with specialists in Tulsa. Attendees can also learn about the many services offered through OSU TeleHealth and tour the OSU Mobile Telemedicine Clinic.
To attend the reception, RSVP by noon on Friday, Sept. 13 to 918-594-8291 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
