Bolt wins first place, People’s Choice award at thesis contest
OSU-CHS biomedical sciences graduate student Brittany Bolt won first place and the “People’s Choice” award during a preliminary contest on Friday for the 2014 OSU Three Minute Thesis Competition.
Bolt took the top prize for explaining her dissertation research on chronic pain in just three minutes. She received a $100 prize and will represent OSU-CHS on April 10 during the final competition at the Little Union Theatre in the OSU-Stillwater Student Union.
Two other biomedical sciences graduate students also took top honors. Michelle DeGear was named first runner-up for her presentation on the impact of waste water on environmental bacteria, and Dusti Sloan placed second runner-up for her presentation on the implications of estrogen and dehydration on eating.
