SNMA to provide free screenings, information at health fair
Medical students Nikki Warren, Greg Bradley and Sarah Souvannachak provide healthy snacks during the 2013 Eugene Field Community Health Fair.
The OSU-COM chapter of the Student National Medical Association will provide free health screenings during the Eugene Field Community Health Fair tomorrow from 3-5 p.m. in the Eugene Field Elementary School gymnasium.
Community members can receive free blood pressure screenings and learn about lung health, heart health, cancers, diet and meal planning, smoking cessation, osteopathic manipulative medicine and bone health. Information on parenting, mental health, general care of children’s common illnesses and first aid will also be available.
Take Charge will provide women’s health info, the Tulsa Fire Department will share fire safety tips and Ocean Dental will give away toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss. SNMA will give away cereal and personal hygiene items donated by OSU-CHS students, faculty and staff to health fair participants in addition to sandwiches provided by Whole Foods.
