OSU-CHS online health care administration program ranked No. 5 in the nation
The online Health Care Administration Program at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences was named one of the best in the United States, according to rankings released this week.
The Master of Science in Health Care Administration online program was ranked No. 5 on the list of the 25 Best Online Master of Health Care Administration Degree Programs by TheBestSchools.org, a website devoted to empowering students with information to select the best schools and degree programs.
“This ranking exemplifies the quality of our health care administration program and its role in fulfilling our mission to provide quality health care services for Oklahoma,” said OSU-CHS President Kayse Shrum. “The program is ensuring administrators at health care organizations are prepared to meet challenges associated with innovations in health care delivery, technological modernization and health care reform.”
The Master of Science in Health Care Administration program offers options in leadership and entrepreneurship or administration. Students are also provided a foundation in organizational theory, marketing, compliance and research.
“A master’s degree is a necessity for managers in nonprofit, government and private health care organizations,” said Dr. James Hess, chair of the OSU School of Health Care Administration and BankSNB professor of health care administration. “The master’s program trains students in business and management principals to become outstanding leaders in the health care industry.”
There are 118 students enrolled in the program, which offers classes in Tulsa, Stillwater and online. Approximately 20 percent of those students are completing courses entirely online.
