Students share their excitement about medicine at Operation Orange
More than 300 high school students from across Oklahoma had the opportunity to experience a day in the life of an OSU medical student this month as part of Operation Orange summer camps.
OStateTV, OSU’s web-based video network, joined OSU-CHS President Kayse Shrum, D.O. and OSU-COM students for the Operation Orange camp at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater on June 12. In the first video, Shrum, third-year medical student Nicole Warren and Operation Orange participant Christian Keenan talk about how the program is getting students excited about medicine. In the second video, first-year medical student Darren Vargas talks about what participants experience as part of the camp.
In addition to OSU-Stillwater, the traveling summer camp visited Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Cherokee Nation W.W. Hastings Technology and Education Center in Tahlequah and the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. View photos and social media posts from each of the camps on the OSU-CHS Storify page.
