Shrum featured speaker at Oklahoma health care summit
OSU-CHS President Kayse Shrum, D.O., will address the medical school’s response to changing demands in the health care industry at the EXPLORE: Oklahoma Heathcare Summit 2014 on Friday at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Norman.
The keynote luncheon presentation, “Update on Oklahoma Medical Schools Response to Changing Environment,” will focus on the current state of the health care industry and the anticipated need for physician workforce development in Oklahoma in the next several years. She will be presenting with M. Dewayne Andrews, M.D., senior vice president and provost of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Shrum will discuss OSU-CHS’ efforts to recruit, train and retain physicians in rural and underserved Oklahoma, including Operation Orange summer camps, the Blue Coat to White Coat program, Early Admissions programs with university partners across the state, Rural Health Track and developing rural residency programs.
