OSU-COM will host the 17th annual White Coat Ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.

The OSU-COM Class of 2019 will receive their white coats and recite the Osteopathic Medicine Oath of Commitment at the ceremony signifying their entry into the medical profession. OSU-CHS President Kayse Shrum, D.O., will welcome students, family and friends and conduct the ceremony.

The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage for first-year medical students and is designed to instill the values of professionalism and compassionate patient care. The Oklahoma Osteopathic Association provides the white coats for students.

The event will also be streamed live on OStateTV.
