Students, faculty and staff are invited to walk with Pistol Pete and newly crowned Miss OSU in the 2016 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18 to honor the memory of the late civil rights leader.

This year’s parade theme is “One Race…The Human Race.” The parade will begin at OSU-Tulsa at the intersection of John Hope Franklin Boulevard and Detroit Avenue and proceed east through campus to Greenwood Avenue. From there, the procession will travel south through the historic Greenwood District and will end at Archer Street and Elgin Avenue. The parade is organized by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Society of Tulsa.

T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies for the event may be pre-ordered online at Dupree Sports Tulsa. The order deadline is Jan. 11. Orders will be delivered to OSU-Tulsa and will be available for distribution at a date to be announced. For additional information, contact Nekki Reagan-Neely or Melanie McClain.
