Gary Slick, D.O., medical director for the Osteopathic Medical Education Consortium of Oklahoma and professor of internal medicine at OSU-CHS, was recently appointed chair of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. NBOME is the leading assessment organization for the osteopathic medical profession.
He has served the NBOME in numerous capacities since 1978, most recently as vice chair of the board. Slick has been a NBOME board member since 2005. He was elected to NBOME's Executive Committee in 2010 and has chaired many critical test construction committees for COMLEX-USA and COMAT examinations.
In 2014, Slick was elected to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Board representing the American Osteopathic Association and the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. In this role, he has been instrumental in the integration and implementation of the Single Accreditation System Agreement for graduate medical education.
