Winter CME Seminar to explore metabolic syndrome risk factors

The Oklahoma Osteopathic Association will host its annual Winter CME Seminar, “Risky Business: Understanding the Risk Factors of Metabolic Syndrome” on Jan. 27-29 at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa.

Colony Fugate, D.O., clinical professor of pediatrics, will present a session on practical approaches to reducing weight bias. Martin Banschbach, Ph.D., professor of biochemistry, will speak on the nutritional aspects of metabolic syndrome. Other sessions will address prevention and treatment, metabolic syndrome’s effect on kidney and heart disease, proper prescribing and hormone replacement therapy.
