OSU Energy Education
To decrease the amount of energy used while still displaying your holiday spirit, use energy-saving fiber optic decorations. Limit the time lights are on; turn them on at dark and off before you go to bed. Aim for six hours or less of daily use.  If you have trouble remembering to turn your lights on and off, set a timer to do the job for you.
