Branding Success campaign faculty/staff lunch Friday
Join OSU-CHS at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Founders Hall for the Branding Success barbeque lunch. Each attendee receives one raffle ticket for prizes such as Pistol Pete coasters, a BBQ tool set, golf balls and OSU picture frame.
Branding Success is the largest educational fundraising campaign in Oklahoma history. It will provide the resources necessary for OSU to become the premier land-grant institution. Our audacious goal to raise $1 billion will enable the university to better fulfill its mission of providing a premier education to its students, research that will benefit the world and programs that extend the university’s knowledge statewide.

Dr. Eddy is conference speaker
Steve Eddy, D.O., M.P.H., OSU-CHS professor of family medicine and director of continuing medical education, and Ann Robinson, B.S., R.M.A., laboratory coordinator for Tulsa Technology Health Sciences Center, will present “Simulation Collaboration in Education” at a Training as a Patient Care Team simulation conference May 25 in Oklahoma City. OOA honors Barnett
Howard G. Barnett, Jr., president of OSU in Tulsa, received the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association Award of Appreciation at its annual convention on April 27 - May 1, in Norman. The OOA recognized Barnett, president of the OSU Center for Health Sciences and College of Osteopathic Medicine, for bringing the College to the forefront in the OSU system, the state’s legislature and within the city of Tulsa.
Federation of State Medical Boards honors Dr. Pickard
Thomas R. Pickard, D.O., retired OSU-CHS associate professor of family medicine, received the John H. Clark M.D. leadership award from the Federation of State Medical Boards of the United States at the federation’s annual meeting. He received the award for his leadership in the field of medical licensure and discipline, and for his commitment to advancing the public good. Pickard retired from OSU in 2010, after 25 years of service.
OSU-COM Alumni Association golf classic returns June 10
The Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Association Summer Golf Classic golf tournament is Friday, June 10, at Clary Fields Golf Club in Sapulpa. Proceeds help to support scholarships, student activities and programs at the OSU College of Medicine. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start is at 1 p.m. For more information, contact Ryan Miller at (918) 561-8226.

Savings checklist for summer vacations
Remember to turn off all computers, monitors, speakers, non-networked printers, lights, and other electronic equipment, close all window blinds and tilt slats upward to keep unoccupied spaces from heating up. If needed, remove plants from windowsills, empty refrigerators and prop doors open. More here.
