Teen pregnancy prevention expert presents workshop at OSU-Tulsa
“Preventing Teen Pregnancy Among Minority Youth: From Research to
Practice,” is from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, June 23.
The workshop is presented by Antonia Villarruel, associate dean for Research and Global Affairs at the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
She will discuss research developments highlighting individual and contextual factors linked to increased risk for teen pregnancy and what these developments mean for practitioners.
She will also describe ¡Cuídate! (or Protect Yourself!) a researched based, empirically supported prevention program developed by Dr. Villarruel that is part of the CDC's Diffusion of Evidence Based Interventions program.

I-244 detour in place
Westbound I-244 traffic over the Arkansas River has shifted to the eastbound bridge, and the westbound bridge is closed for the I-244 multi-modal bridge replacement project. The eastbound bridge detour will accommodate two-way traffic until 2013.
