African American Tobacco Education Network (AATEN)

Tobacco use prevention and reduction goals:

  • prevent tobacco use by youth
  • prevent exposure to environmental tobacco smoke
  • promote tobacco use cessation (quitting) among youth and adults

The primary purpose of this network is to develop a strategic plan for the African American population in the state of Oklahoma that addresses tobacco use prevention and reduction.

The network will design and implement specially tailored interventions to meet the needs of the community. The network will also develop ways to reduce and eliminate health disparities related to tobacco use in the African American population.
