Programs | Community Support

Oklahoma AHEC, in collaboration with state and community partners, engages in a number of activities to support practicing health professionals and rural and underserved communities.

Through a variety of advocacy and training activities, AHEC promotes public health principles, community development, and provides local educational programs to address the challenges of rural and underserved populations.

Continuing Health Professional Education
In FY 2009-2010, OKAHEC offered 245 programs to 3,483 health professional for 27,851 hours of continuing education.

Consumer Education
In FY 2009-2010, OKAHEC consumer/community education programs served 25,402 community members for 22,549 hours of education.
