Geriatric Education Center (GEC)

Oklahoma AHEC, OU Health Sciences Center Geriatric Education Center, and the Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Leadership are partnering to provide aging and disabilities continuing education to health care providers throughout Oklahoma. The continuing education opportunities include quarterly grand rounds and an aging and disabilities (AD) scholars program.

Grand Rounds

• Held in the auditorium of the Bird Library
  

AD Scholars Program

• Orientation and interdisciplinary team training
• Review 7 self-study modules
• Prepare and teach a one-hour unit
• Visit an exemplary care site
• Interview an aging individual with disabilities or their caregiver
• Attend the Grand Rounds
• Attend the Summer Geriatric Institute
• Attend the Governor’s Conference on Disabilities
