Hyperbaric (Dive) Research
The field of hyperbaric oxygen therapy is filled with many anecdotal accounts of benefits that were gained through the use of HBO. What hyperbaric oxygen therapy requires is solid scientific research.
Our Center is a non-profit, state funded facility, uniquely qualified to conduct hyperbaric research.
CAHM’s Research on Traumatic Brain Injury
The International Hyperbaric Medical Foundation is studying a low-pressure hyperbaric oxygen treatment protocol in volunteers who have been diagnosed with Chronic Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)/Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS) and TBI/Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in a multicenter clinical trial using an observational study design. OSU Center for Aerospace and Hyperbaric Medicine is a leading site in this research project. The study is called the National Brain Injury Rescue and Rehabilitation Project (NBIRR).
