In a spiral curriculum, study matter is continuously reintroduced to the student in greater depth and complexity. This method serves to reinforce prior learning and promote meaningful retention. Dual D.O./Ph.D.
This dual degree program, a six year program, is an excellent education option for students who wish to pursue careers in medical research and/or academic medicine. The first two years are the basic science years of the D.O. program. The middle two years are graduate study, research and dissertation of the Ph.D. program. The final two years are the clinical science years of the D.O. program.
