Students examine the heart Federal Work-study

Federal work-study is a federal financial aid program that allows a student to earn money for educational expenses and encourages community service work and work related to their course of study.

The federal government stipulates that jobs available through the Federal Work-study Program may not displace presently employed persons or fill regular job openings.

To be considered for work-study, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and show sufficient financial need. Funds are awarded on a first come first serve basis.

Work-study positions may include jobs that supply services designed
to improve the quality of life, especially for low-income residents of
the community. Students may be eligible to work summer, during breaks, and limited hours during the in-school periods.

Money earned from this program is considered a financial aid award
and is to provide the student with means to earn funds needed for
tuition and related living expenses.

Visit the Financial Aid office in the office of Student Affairs to inquire regarding available
work-study positions.
